The Game Plan
The Effingham Community Sports Center will be a 100,000 square foot sports and recreation facility with a multi-sport court, indoor pool and ice arena to accommodate the most popular indoor sports. The current YMCA building will be renovated and expanded to create the new facility. The people in our community will be able to participate in volleyball, basketball, indoor soccer, inline skating, ice skating, hockey, swimming and other sports. It will be an exciting place for teams and tournaments, which will bring excellent public relations and outside revenue for hotels and local businesses.
Multi-Sport Court
This area will have convertible flooring to accommodate multiple indoor sports. Depending on the sport, it will accommodate 1600-2000 spectators.
Volleyball
Four courts, for 10-12 major volleyball tournaments each year
Basketball
Three courts, and a great site for AAU and AYBT tournaments
Indoor Soccer
Plans for 3-4 soccer tournaments each year
Inline Skating
Plans for 3-4 skating tournaments each year
Indoor Pool
A 25-yard, 8-lane pool for competitive swimming, plus recreational area for play.
Competitive Swimming
Would Attract USS events, IHSA, YMCA and USMS adult swimming competitions plus high school swim meets

Water Aerobics and scuba classes

200 ft X 85 ft. ice rink with seating for 500 spectators.
